In this song, Michael Jackson sings about the importance of equality and disregarding the color of skin tone as a barrier between people.
In this song, John Lennon explains that society will reach true equality and freedom by not separating people into categories based on their beliefs, i.e. religions, but this song also applies for not separating people into categories based off of their skin tones, i.e. race. Basically, categorizing people is counterproductive to gaining freedom, even though these categories have been used to gain freedoms and privileges for a select group of people in the past.
